She provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management. She works closely with primary care providers to support patients in the community, so care stays connected between your family doctor and specialist.

What happens at the first appointment?
Your first visit is an assessment. Dr. Shoaib will ask about your concerns, your history and how things are affecting daily life. Together you'll agree on a plan, and she'll share her recommendations with your referring doctor.
Is psychiatry covered by Alberta Health Care?
Psychiatry appointments with a physician referral are covered for patients with a valid Alberta Health Care card.
